Brooks Institute celebrates Emmy wins

Faculty member Tracy Trotter of Trotter Productions and Brooks Institute alumnus Stephen McGee recently brought home a couple of Emmy awards. Trotter won his Emmy as the director of photography for his public service announcement, “Voter.” The announcement is currently showing in the Los Angeles area.

McGee won his third Emmy for his project, “40 Years of Respect”—a look back at the city of Detroit in 1967. That’s the year Aretha Franklin recorded her famous song “Respect” and also the year that African Americans rioted after being mistreated by police.

The Brooks Institute has campuses in Santa Barbara and Ventura and offers Bachelor of Arts degrees in fields including professional photography, visual journalism, film and video production, and graphic design. For more information, visit brooks.edu or call 966-3888.
