Classical KUSC comes to the Central Coast

The most listened to public radio station in the Los Angeles area is expanding its service to the Central Coast, starting in early 2009, according to station president Brenda Barnes.

“We are very pleased to bring our all-classical format to the Central Coast. KUSC has recently been ranked by Arbitron as the most listened to public radio station in the Los Angeles area,” she said in a press release. “It is our sincere intent to share this musical art-form with as many listeners as possible.”

KUSC is licensed to the University of Southern California, which recently purchased Santa Maria-based KGDP 90.5 FM. Broadcasting will begin when the Federal Communications Commission approves the sale to KUSC. For more information about the station, visit www.KUSC.org.
