The Central Coast Music Teachers Association held its 24th annual CAPMT Piano Auditions and Honors Program on Nov. 1 at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Arroyo Grande and Nov. 2 at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church in San Luis Obispo. More than 30 audition students performed, and seven honors students participated as well.
Sixteen students received scores high enough to be able to perform on Jan. 25 at Whittier College or Feb. 1 in Santa Clara at the CAPMT state conference. The teachers of the students include Betty Hansen, Belva Hanson, Nell Kauffman, and Deborah Lagomarsino. Several students received honorable mention; their teachers are Alan Boehmer, Lynne Garrett, and Lynn Nakamura.
