Susan Farber hosts natural perfume workshop in Solvang

Artisan perfumer and certified aromatherapist Susan Farber hosts two sessions of her natural perfume-making workshop at the Wildling Museum of Art and Nature on Saturday, Feb. 8—one from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and the other from 2 to 4:30 p.m. Farber is the founder and creator of Sol Aromatics, which produces a variety of perfume and aromatherapy products and services.

Attendees of this Valentine’s Day-themed course will learn about the dynamics of natural perfume and how to intertwine scents with their own personal body chemistry. Participants will then use extracted oils from ylang ylang, chocolate, jasmine, rose, sandalwood, and vanilla to create their own custom Valentine’s Day fragrance. Guests will also leave the museum with a take-home guide on the procurement process.

The workshop is open to ages 16 and older. Guests are advised not to wear any perfumes to the class as they will most likely distract from the processes of making perfume and identifying scents. Admission to the course is $95 and includes all materials. Call (805) 688-1082 or visit wildlingmuseum.org for more info. The Wildling Museum is located at 1511 Mission Drive, unit B, Solvang.
