On Friday, May 2, the Health Mart Healthy Living Tour will stop at JDX Pharmacy from 3 to 6 p.m. Free health screenings and a sample bag will be offered to those in attendance.
The national awareness tour honors pharmacists in the community and recognizes their vital roles as educators, counselors, and managers of various medical conditions.
Through complementary screenings aboard the Health Mart Healthy Living Tour’s 40-foot mobile health-screening unit, staff will identify those at risk for high blood pressure, diabetes, cholesterol, and obesity. Health Mart pharmacists will be on hand to promote the management of these conditions, advise on ways to reduce medication costs, and provide patients with information about drug regimens and complications.
In addition to raising awareness of pharmacists in the community, the Health Mart Healthy Living Tour, which is in its fifth year, aims to increase access to clinical services and medication counseling. The goal is to reduce healthcare costs while still improving quality
of care.
The tour will also provide patients with the opportunity to begin a conversation and partner with Health Mart pharmacists.
